Why I practise Reiki

What to expect from a Reiki treatment with me

I approach every Reiki session by listening to my client and finding out what they are bringing with them. I then stand back and let Reiki flow for their highest good. Reiki energy knows where it needs to go and I feel that my role is to allow the healing to take place without judgement or attachment.

There will usually be some areas where I am drawn to treat, or to stay for longer, but I trust that the energy will find its way to where it’s needed. My clients usually report that they feel more relaxed, calm and balanced after a treatment. I aim to give my clients time and space to allow them to experience the healing they need.

I was first drawn to Reiki when I had reached a bit of a crossroads in my life.  I was looking for something, but wasn’t sure what. I was also looking for something for me. I was, and still am, interested in alternative therapies and thought that might be something I could investigate further.

I wandered into Quest, in Epsom and discovered that Carolina ran Reiki courses, so I signed up, not quite knowing what to expect.  I also booked in to have a treatment with Carolina, and experienced for myself, what Reiki could do.

From that first treatment, and through my training, I met some wonderful people, all equally enthusiastic about Reiki, and we shared our stories, our experiences and the gift of Reiki. Reiki also opened up other areas of spirituality and I found there is still so much to learn.

Me as a Reiki teacher

In 2020 I gave up my job and was again looking for something for me. I approached Carolina and she asked if I’d thought about becoming a Reiki teacher. So, with her guidance, support and encouragement, I trained to teach others and that is where I am now.

I love meeting new people and supporting them on their Reiki journey. I am not an expert, nor a master of Reiki. I still have so much to learn, and I always take something new from the courses I teach and from the wonderful Reiki students I meet. I am passionate about sharing Reiki, building and supporting the community and continuing my own Reiki journey, wherever that takes me next.

I still love to give and receive Reiki, but my greatest joy is in teaching Reiki to others. Having the privilege of sharing other people’s Reiki journeys, and being able to support, encourage and celebrate their success, is a real honour.
