21 Days of Reiki
When we first receive our attunements we enter a period of 21 days of self-healing, creating great habits which help us as Reiki practitioners. We find ways to make self-healing work for us in our lives and it becomes a habit.
When we first receive our attunements we enter a period of 21 days of self-healing, creating great habits which help us as Reiki practitioners. We find ways to make self-healing work for us in our lives and it becomes a habit. But, as with all habits, we sometimes repeat the actions without thinking too much or reflecting on why we do certain things. Can we make small changes to do these actions differently?
This month we invite you to complete 21 days of Reiki - small challenges to help you reflect on your practice. You may decide to incorporate some of these activities into your daily practice, or you may just enjoy the process of that action on a particular day and decide it’s not one you will regularly use. You may already be doing many of these suggestions. This is OK; Reiki is a personal journey and deciding what works for you is part of that.
So let’s start:
1.Today, complete a full Reiki self-healing treatment using the prescribed hand positions. How does this make you feel? Reflect on any emotions that have come up. Which areas were you drawn to? Is that what you expected?
If you are not already doing this, continue to self-heal every day for the next 21 days.
2. Take some time today to work out how Reiki is working for you. What are you currently doing on a daily/regular basis? Is this something you want to do more, or less, of? How does doing this make you feel? How might you feel if you didn’t do this regularly?
3. Look at your self-healing space. Does it feel calming and peaceful? Can you make any changes?
4. Revisit the Reiki Precepts:
Just for today, do not worry
Just for today, do not anger
Honour your parents, teachers and elders
Earn your living honestly
Show gratitude to everything
How do you incorporate these into your everyday life?
5. Reiki heals on all 4 levels. Today, reflect on how you know Reiki heals on a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level.
6. Reiki is a wonderful gift to share, so why not reach out to another Reiki practitioner and arrange a Reiki swap today?
7. Drinking water will help to clear any toxins from the body, so try to increase the amount you drink today. You can give Reiki to the water by holding the glass in your hands and asking the Reiki to clear and energise it.
8. You can give Reiki to your food as you prepare your meals and before you eat.
9. Today, give Reiki to your plants and flowers.
10. Animals love Reiki too! If you have animals at home, why not gently place your hands on, or over them and see how they respond?
11. Take a Reiki shower. Sit quietly and ask for the Reiki to flow. Imagine the energy flowing over you, cleansing and healing.
12. Perform a Ghasso meditation; place your hands in prayer position over your heart, close your eyes and, concentrating on your middle 2 fingers, take some deep breaths.
13. Take a good look at your Reiki healing space, is it welcoming and clear?
14. Take a Reiki walk. Be present and notice your surroundings.
15. Revisit your Reiki playlist. Can you introduce some different tracks?
16. If you have candles, incense or oils, take some time to notice how the different scents make you feel. Can you use a different scent during your healing session today?
17. You can use Reiki to clear the energy in a room. Try this today.
18. Send distant Reiki to a friend or relative today.
19. Use Reiki to cleanse your crystals.
20. Choose a crystal to hold, or have near you during your self-healing session today.
21. As you reach the end of the 21 days, reflect on what you have done and how you feel. What do you want to do more of? What will you commit to, moving forward? Look back to day 1 - do you notice any differences?
Congratulate yourself on reaching the end of the challenge! And remember, do more of what you love and take time to be present to enjoy each and every moment.
